I'm typing this blog post kind of at a weird time, but that's because there are so many exciting things going on right now. But before I get into that, let me give you the rundown of this shoot!
So I have a confession to make... this shirt is actually from the men's section at H&M. I love to shop in the men's section for myself. Why? Well let me tell you why...
1. I saw a tweet one time that went something along the lines of, "Why do bras cost $50? Why does makeup cost $50? Why do men's shirts come in packs of 4 for $10?" I laughed so hard when I read that, because it is ridiculously accurate. So shopping in the men's section actually saves me money from time to time.
2. No Boyfriend? No problem! Just get yourself some nice big comfy shirts, spray some cologne on it and there you go, imaginary boyfriend.
3. Yes Boyfriend? Share clothes! I like buying giant men's sweaters so I can wear tights and boots with them in the fall, or a big t-shirt to cut up and mess with like I did with this t-shirt. I actually have a sweater that I bought for myself but my boyfriend likes it so much that he keeps stealing it from me. Oh well, at least he has good taste.
So on to this week...
This week is full of meetings, photo shoots, fittings, shopping and planning. Sounds pretty fun, but my oh my is it exhausting! Today I had the opportunity to shoot with a great photographer, Michelle Moore with Free People Seattle. We danced in the water a bit, climbed some trees and frolicked in fields. I actually typed most of this blog post in the car on our way up to the shoot location. After the shoot, we headed straight back into Seattle, which despite the fact that Beyoncé was in town tonight, traffic was not that bad!
So this is what's up, I am hosting an event. Since I am a recent graduate with my B.A. in merchandising, my professors and mentors suggested I throw an event to market this blog, and my services as a stylist. We brainstormed ideas and finally came around to the idea of having a mini little fashion show. The clothing is coming form local designers and boutiques, all outfits styled by me. This has been a big project in the works and I can't believe after 4 months of planning, I have about 4 days left to get everything completed. So with the help of many friends and family, I may come out of this alive! So tonight was the fitting for several of my models, and there are more fittings and shoots to come this week. I will be all over social media so follow along!
With that all being said, I'd like to just give a quick shoutout to all my faithful subscribers! Thanks for walking out this journey with me as I learn to pursue my passions!
