I saw this quote on Pinterest several weeks ago, it said, "Plant lady is the new cat lady." Now, my sister is a cat lady and I am sure she'd disagree with that statement but I thought it was pretty funny. I wish I could say I am just the best plant lady ever, like mother nature in human form, but I actually suck at taking care of my plants even though I love them and name them and everything! I forget to water them or sometimes over-water them. I told this to the girl who runs the shop I buy all my little plants from and she told me I should just get a cactus... low maintenance. So I actually ended up getting an aloe vera plant, and I am proud to say that she has lasted just over a year in my home now! I probably owe thanks to my boyfriend for that. He apparently has been secretly watering her for me because he knows I forget to. Ladies, find yourself a boy who waters your plants secretly, he's a real gem.
Speaking of plants and greenery, they have really been a huge fad this past year. From t-shirts, tattoos, designs on folders and whatever else you can print on to actually owning plants and including them in imagery... Greenery and plants have been everywhere. And I have loved it. I'd say Pantone was spot on for declaring "Greenery" as the color of the year for 2017. I've been so sad knowing that the time has come to say goodbye to all of this lush greenness that has become so popular, but once I found out what the color of 2018 was, I actually got a little excited!
Pantone's color of the year 2018, is Ultra Violet, "A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future." I love this whole concept! The fact that it encourages artistic expression, creativity, spiritual reflection and so on. It just gets me inspired and excited for what's to come this year! Now about this look, I got these ruffle waist pants from SHEIN and I love them. They are so comfortable, yet nice enough to dress up a look. AND they are currently 50% off! Shop them directly by clicking here!
Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!
