Every Fall/Winter I really struggle. Some people enjoy layering, and I am not one of those people. I feel like I can't move comfortably, like I'm all cramped for space and despite the amount of clothing I have on I am still cold! (we had snow in October for Lord's sake.)
And pants... wearing pants is hard.
But cold weather and I have started to work out a compromise. As we get further and further into this "sweater weather," I have found that I really like mixing things up a bit... what's new though. I think one of the reasons why I really don't enjoy cold weather is because I choose comfort over style quite often when I just don't care enough to try. So I end up feeling majorly basic in a sweater, leggings and boots *face palm & sigh.*
I'm at the point where I am seriously considering purchasing UGGs you guys! The last time I wore UGGs was in 8th grade!
Anyway... on the rare occasion when I decide to go out and be social, and I am required to bundle up, yet also look presentable, I have started to experiment with my sweaters. Whether it be tucking a sweater into my mom jeans and throwing a leather jacket on, or layering it over a dress like in these photos, I've found that by making these simple adjustments, one avoids the catastrophe of being that basic girl.
I've done a couple of different sweaters with a simple black dress underneath. I dressed up one of my sweaters by pairing it with the black dress, my favorite blue velvet Steve Madden healed boots, and some bold earrings. Its easy to pull off the look with heals or tennies, I even wore fishnet socks to add some spunk one time! I just wanna encourage you ladies out there to mix it up and have fun cause I'm tired of everyone looking the same. Okay? Okay.
