Who doesn't love the 4th of July?! Oh thats right... the British.
So my friend Payton and I have started a bit of a tradition for the two of us. Last year when Payton came up to WA to visit, we were together for the 4th, so we decided to dress up just for fun. I had a white tutu and she had a red one, we wore patriotic shirts, and of course our American flag socks, which yes we will be re-wearing this year as shown in this shoot (no shame in sock repeating people).
Okay so Patriotism 101; we found the key pieces to our outfits at garage sales believe it or not, and just worked with what we had from there. At this giant neighborhood garage sale, I scored this jersey, and Payton scored her little white jersey shirt. For me, being comfortable is priority. I gotta have room for all the food I am planning to eat, amiright?
So something like this big roomy jersey is just what I needed, being short came in handy so it works as a dress, threw a bandana with it and some crazy socks and I am ready to watch the fireworks! Payton on the other hand, (and I love her for this), she goes all out. What can I say? She's from the South. She hit up the Dollar Tree and came back with all sorts of fun crazy stuff; a snap back, that big American flag necklace, patriotic peace sign sunglasses... She cracks me up.
So my advice to you, is just have fun with it. This is the one time of year that we can be overly patriotic without people thinking we're crazy for liking where we live!
Go all out, have fun, and if you need some last minute accessories but there aren't any near by garage sales, the Dollar Tree apparently has got your back.
